Shouts Outs from Mexico!

Hey Families:

Here are a few "shout outs" from students on our last night in Merida. After a full and amazing day of touring I managed to get some students to share a little note to their families. If you students did not write....please do not despair....they were either asleep or were so excited talking about the day that they did not hear the announcement to come to my room to write a note. I can assure you that everyone is present and accounted for.

Today we took a luxury bus complete with air conditioning (woo hoo!) to Chichen Itzu. This place is in contention to be considered as an addition to the 7 Modern Wonders of the World...something like that. Anyway it was quite amazing! We had very interesting guides and learned some really cool stuff that I will let your students tell you about! After our time of knowledge and exploration we then went to a special underground spring called a "cenote" for a some real fun. Wait until you see those pictures! This place had to be one of the most beautiful sites I have ever visited with openings in the ceiling where the sun broke through and water trickeled in from above also complete with hanging vines. Post card picture perfect place! The water was so icy cold and refreshing! We swam with catfish and I am here to say that I saw some of the most professional cannonball deliveries ever noted in our current day. We even had a "group jump" and it is on video as proof. After our swim we then headed out for an "all you can eat buffet" complete with bottle balancing mexican dancers as entertainment. We then headed back to the hotel, had a good nap on the bus on the way back.....a time of fun and comaraderie in the hotel lobby, pizza on the steps outside of the hotel, one final run on the ice cream shop across the street and now we are off to our debrief. Wanted to get this off before you went to bed. That's all for the moment.

Bryston- So I never thought id be so excited to come home…I miss you and love you!

Miriam – Mexico has been awesome, but I definitely can’t wait to come home, sleep in a nice comfortable bed, and eat Nanay’s amazing food! I miss everyone and I can’t wait to tell you all about the trip!

Rochelle – Buenos noches. ¡Yo he divertido en este viaje! Pero, yo estoy feliz para regresar a los Estados Unidos. Hay muchas cosas que son ‘interesantes’ aqui en Mexico. Yo voy a explicar cuando yo llego. ¡Te quiero!

Mateo Huston – Hola familia! Como estan? Estoy muy consado, pero bien. This has been a great trip and I’m excited to come home and tell you guys how its been. Mom, Dad, keep it gangster. And Geoff…you’ve uh…got a lil something on your face there…lol love you guys, see you soon!

Courtney K.- HOLA FAMILIA ok so to much of your surprise, I really really really donot want to come home so don’t be surprised if I “accidentally” miss the plane or get lost :] Shleby, Alex, Tyler, Jen jen Mom Hazel Dad and Matt you all have lil things headin your way :] So much has gone on I cant wait to tell you all about it, although I wish it could wait longer :] I love you all very mucho mucho xxx

Danielle (aka Big D): Hola!! I am so excited to have made it on this trip…snaps to Mom for letting me come! =] It’s been awesome and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Shout out to all the people of Mexico (love you guys!). Sorry familia but I’m kind of not ready to go home just yet…it’s too soon! VIVA MEXICO!

Leah~ wow! I can’t believe this trip is almost over!!! No! I know who would have of thought that I would ever say that. I have made such great new friends. I have soo much to tell u guys. O and I’m really dying for cereal and some books! I do miss home, but I want to stay here though L. See you all soon!

Courtney I.- Hey family!! Oh my gosh this trip has been amazing!!! It’ll be bitter sweet to come home . . .like I’ve loved it here but I really miss stuff at home. You can tell Joey and Jennifer that I bought them something. J Ummm can I see Andrew tomorrow LOLZ I thought I’d give you time to think about it (haha) I love you guys and you’ve been missed. xoxo

Sarah B – Hey-ay! Hi to Mom, Papi, Cyndi, Matt, and Yaya! I have had the time of my LIFE, but I’m so excited to come back home… particularly my bed and shower! I cant wait to tell you guys about everything we did and experienced and learned. I have a few gifts for a couple of you… sorry I didn’t have time to get some for everyone! Natalie: Hola mom and dad (and Danny, Adrian, and Jen)! This past few 10 days have been life changing & for the better. This trip was definitely one of those trips that I’ll remember forever! I’m sad to be going home tomorrow (since I love Merida so much) but I’m going to be happy to sleep in my bed again. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow and tell you all that God has shown me. I love you guys!!!

David Ocasek is your best and only son who loves you very much! I am not dead...yet. The mexican girls are no where near as amazing as Ash <3 the trip has been amazing, God is amazing, I love you! -your son who is tired and full and has to poop badly!


Samantha Sweeting: Hey you three. :) I've had a fabulous time and I'm bringing home two little Mexican boys so be ready k? I'm thinking I'll just sleep on the airbed. :) I'm more than ready to be home, even though I'm definitely interning at Calvary Chapel here next summer hahah.
